Kralik Martele Opalescent Art Glass Vase

  • $150.00
    Unit price per

The texture on this Art Nouveau piece is so pretty! This opalescent glass vase is attributed to Kralik, c. 1900. The glass is textured in the martele style (AKA hammered). It is cased glass, clear over white iridized to an opalescent sheen. Because of the texture, the piece looks as though there is netting beneath the surface - how cool is that.

4" across the top / 10.16cm
3" tall / 7.62cm
2.5" across base / 6.35cm

The rim was manufactured with rough feel, but it should be noted that there are some tiny chips as well. Please see photos. There are some glaze pops on the interior of the piece that have accumulated some dirt, and not all of the crevices have been thoroughly cleaned. The bottom has a broken pontil in the center of a chrysanthemum shape.
